About AdaptDatabase
AdaptDatabase (adaptdatabase.com) is an independent website about one specific problem: changing a database that is already in use. Applications outgrow their first schema, teams switch engines, and data has to move without breaking the software that depends on it. This site collects practical, vendor-neutral guides for developers and small teams facing those changes.
What is here
- MySQL to PostgreSQL migration guide – a step-by-step walkthrough from schema conversion to cutover.
- NoSQL vs SQL – how to decide which model fits a workload before you migrate.
- Articles on migration planning, zero-downtime techniques and choosing a database.
- Planning tools – a database sizing calculator, a query-performance impact calculator and a simple schema designer that generates SQL. They run in your browser.
- Resources – links to official documentation and well-known open-source migration tools.
Who it is for
Developers, students and technical founders who manage their own databases and want to understand the steps, risks and trade-offs of a migration before they start.
